The new Income Tax Returns (ITRs) e-filing website will be launched on June 7, with new features to make the process smoother. "The new e-filing portal is aimed at providing taxpayer convenience and a modern, seamless experience to taxpayers," the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement. The new portal (www.incometax.gov.in) will be integrated with the immediate processing of ITRs to issue quick refunds to taxpayers. The CBDT, which comes under the Ministry of Finance, also said that a mobile app of the portal will be released after the launch of the portal. Here are the features of the new ITR e-filing portal:

Twitter Drops Blue Tick from VP Naidu’s Account, Restores Later

  Vice President Venkaiah Naidu’s personal Twitter account has not posted since July last year. Twitter on Saturday, 5 June, removed the blue tick badge from the personal handle of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, before restoring it. "The personal account of Venkaiah Naidu was inactive for six months and the blue badge has gone," an official from the vice president's office was quoted as saying by news agency ANI, before it was restored. The last tweet from Naidu's  personal account  was posted on 23 July 2020. Meanwhile, the vice president's  official account  is active and tweets regularly.
